How did you first start out as a freelance writer?
When I was pregnant with one of my children, I was working third shift. Since I have always enjoyed writing, I figured I would give it a shot. In time, I got so busy writing that I had to quit my job. That was the best day of my life. Since I began freelancing, I have worked hard to refine my writing skills and learn new things.
Where do you find your information?
I use a variety of sources for information. Reputable websites, print publications, and source interviews are some of the most common places I find information for my pieces.
Why does some of your content include commentary?
Like any woman, I enjoy sharing my opinion. Some of the websites that I write for encourage writers to add some personal touches. When I find websites that allow me to share my opinion with others, I embrace them.
Why did you delete my comment?
Some of the places I publish articles allow readers to comment. While I don't mind readers disagreeing with my commentary, I do reserve the right to delete comments that contain profanity, spam, rude comments, or grossly incorrect information.
What do you enjoy doing besides writing?
I enjoy watching my children pursue their passion -- dancing. I also enjoy cooking and baking.
Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?
Never give up and never think you know it all. Writing is an art that is always evolving. Work on your personal style. Learn as many writing styles as you can. When you first start building your brand, you may have to take gigs that you don't really want. Don't let that get you down. As you build your portfolio, you will be able to pick and choose what you want to write about, and you will be able to choose what clients you want to write for. Always do your best and proofread your work.
