Review of Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure

As part of the Influenster Spring Fever VoxBox, I received Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure from the Nicole Scherzinger Signature Series to review. The package claims that these nails are easy to put on and will last up to a week (when applied properly).

First Impression

When I first saw the nails, I thought "No way!" The nails I got are the Sexy Fresh print that includes some blue nails and some pink nails. There are also white and purple accents on them. I am more of a traditional girl. I like single color nail polish or a nice French manicure. I have never really done patterns or prints on my nails.

I can remember using press-on nails when I was younger. If you used the included adhesive strips, the nails would fling off as soon as you would wiggle your finger. Forget washing dishes, scratching your legs or doing anything else. Exactly how would these nails work for a mother with five children under six years old? I wasn't sure they would last five minutes!

The Application

Remember how I said the packaging for the Broadway imPress Press-on Manicure says these nails would be easy to apply? Well, I decided to put that to the test. I decided to apply them while I was watching the kids play outside. I figure if I can get them on with all five munchkins outside while I was the only parent outside, anyone can apply these.

I had to go through the nails and choose the nails that fit on my finger. Following the current trend, I decided to do blue on all my nails except the ring fingers. On the ring fingers, I would do pink. Once that was done, I had to clean my nails with the included alcohol pad.

The last step was applying the nails. Each nail has a tab that aligns with the cuticle. I am not really sure why that tab is there, as I couldn't get the backing off the adhesive using the tabs. I had to peel the backing off the nails from the sides. Once the backing was off, it was really easy to apply the nails—I just had to press them down firmly.

The Experience

After I had them all applied, I played with the kids for a while until it was time to plate up dinner. I already had dinner cooked, so I just had to get all the plates ready and feed the baby. Much to my surprise, the nails didn't come off during all of that.

It is now almost six hours after I applied the nails and they are still on. I have been typing, changing diapers, fixing plates, caring for children, and texting. I am pleasantly surprised to say the least. I am not sure how long they will stay on, but I plan to leave them on until one of them comes off. When one comes off, I will remove them all and update the blog.

What I like:

  • The nails feel nice
  • They were easy to apply
  • They seem a lot sturdier than I expected

What I dislike:

  • The ugly tab at the nail tip from mass manufacturing (see pictures)
  • The print wasn't something I would normally wear
  • The tab to pull the adhesive protector off was useless

The Bottom Line

I do recommend these nails for any woman who doesn't have time to let nails dry, as well as those who enjoy changing their nail style often.
